“Your hospital is out of contract.” It’s not the news anyone wants to hear, especially if you’ve booked in for a life-changing treatment.

Unfortunately, sometimes, it does happen.

Medibank needed a new eDM template that communicated changes to members’ hospital cover. From this base template, they would amend hundreds of personalised details using variable fields.

Health insurance is pretty dry. And it can be scary. So our job was to be as clear and caring as possible.

Email from Medibank about a change in hospital agreement with St Vincent's, detailing how it affects treatment costs and providing support options.

“Ending”? Scary. “Changing”? Slightly less bad.

No one wants to wade through long emails. We kept it as short and sweet as legally possible.

Red is Medibank’s core brand colour. But too much red can feel alarming, so we offset it with soft pastels.

People hate the idea of their health insurance costs going up. So we put this info near the start.

The cost of living was going up. Australians were considering what they could cut from their budgets.

Medibank needed to keep older members at risk of dropping their health insurance, so we sent a reminder about the complementary services included in their cover.

Below, it mentions, "We know what better health means for Australians. That's because we've had 45 years of practice." There's a stylized DNA strand graphic and the words "medibank Live Better." At the bottom, it highlights "Canstar winner 15 years in a row."

The 2022 cyber attacks really damaged Medibank’s reputation. They turned off all advertising for a few months.

When Medibank came back online, they wanted to rebuild trust in their identity as a heritage provider. So we returned to irrefutable facts like their 15 Canstar Awards and 45 years’ of experience.

Medibank advertisement featuring benefits like waived waiting periods, customizable extras, financial support, 24/7 nursing and mental health phone support. Offers a quick quote option. Includes LinkedIn branding and a person named Sam Smith addressing someone named Fiona.
